Naimuri is a diverse company, where everyone’s contribution is valued, whatever their background and life experience. This diversity of thought is one of our strongest assets in providing innovative solutions to our customers.
As Naimuri’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Power Group lead, and as a queer trans woman, Pride is of huge importance to me. With the rights of LGBTQ+ people under attack internationally, I feel it is even more crucial for us to celebrate Pride, to demonstrate that our LGBTQ+ employees are valued, welcomed and supported.
Naimuri have marked Pride month by displaying Pride flags on the ground floor of our Salford office, and with Pride-themed cupcakes at our company meeting earlier this month. This is just one aspect of the work of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Power Group, who are dedicated to the inclusion of all our employees, with a range of events and workshops throughout the year, e.g. our celebrations of International Women’s Day and Eid al-Fitr, and our workshops on Psychological Safety, Time to Talk Day, and International Mother Tongue Day.
We recognise and honour the contribution that LGBTQ+ people have made to our mission space, remembering in particular Alan Turing, whose service at Bletchley Park during World War II was crucial to the Allied war effort.
We also acknowledge that the rights and freedoms we have enjoyed are as a result of the service of others. Many of us will know people among our own family and friends who have served their country, and I personally commemorate my father, and my wife’s grandparents, who served in the Royal Signals during World War II, and my cousin, who served in the RAF.
It is of great significance for me to follow in their footsteps in my work at Naimuri, where we continue our mission to enhance the safety and quality of life in the UK.
