Naimuri were delighted to participate in the launch event for Lancaster Policing Academic Centre of Excellence (L-PACE) launch event, on the 15th December.
L-PACE aims to:
- Increase academic involvement in police projects.
- Foster new relationships between academia, police, and industry to provide practical solutions to current policing challenges.
- Spark ideas for substantial projects.
- Address the policing skills and recruitment gap by creating a pathway for students interested in data-related policing careers.
The day was incredibly insightful, focusing on discussing the critical challenges facing policing and exploring collaborative solutions involving academia, industry, and policing partners,
Our Sector Lead for Homeland Security, Eddie Newton, was invited to share his valuable experience in policing and outlined the network challenges ahead. His talk emphasised the need to work together to better understand these issues and create timely, accessible solutions for our police forces.
Talking about the event, Eddie said: " It was a privilege to join the Lancaster University L-PACE community for this event. The insights shared and topics covered were fascinating and the event offered an invaluable opportunity to connect with academics, practitioners and industry experts on policing. The research that Lancaster University is undertaking is outstanding and will provide an evidenced base for meaningful transformation across UK Policing”.
The event showcased the brilliant work which is already being done by Lancaster University, Lancashire Constabulary, and the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner's Office. The launch demonstrated enthusiasm for innovation and partnership working and we look forward to doing more work with the L-Pace community.
