The Manchester Tech Festival (MTF) once again proved why it’s a cornerstone of the North West tech scene.
As proud active attendees and volunteers, a few of the Naimuri team spent a week immersed in learning, collaboration, and community - covering everything from the AI Day to the strategic insights of Leadership Day.
It truly was a great time, not just for the insights gained, but for the chance to connect with the people who are shaping the future of technology, including an unforgettable meeting with a true pioneer from NASA!
Deep diving into Data and AI day
We were delighted to attend the AI Day, a full-day event dedicated to cutting-edge insights, technical deep dives, and real-world applications of AI.
As well as helping to film content and take pictures throughout the day, our team listened to incredibly insightful discussions covering critical topics such as AI integration and ethical governance.
It was great to hear directly from practitioners and engineers on how to deploy AI safely and effectively, a subject close to Naimuri's mission to drive innovation for a safer world.
Our team members enjoyed both contributing to and absorbing the latest thinking on how AI can revolutionise the world we work in.
The leadership edge
The Leadership Day offered a chance to zoom out and focus on the strategic landscape of the tech industry. From conversations about fostering inclusive workforces to driving large-scale digital transformation, the sessions reinforced the importance of strong, mission-led leadership.
There was a positive energy throughout the day and lots of great networking and conversations (especially in the bar afterwards!).
Meeting Ron Thompson from NASA
One of the biggest highlights of the entire festival was the privilege of hearing from Ron Thompson, former Chief Data Officer at NASA.
Ron’s keynote and subsequent conversations provided a rare, global perspective on driving innovation and digital strategy at the most complex, high-stakes organisation imaginable.
Hearing his insights on how NASA leverages data to fuel digital transformation, from the growth of AI to space exploration, was genuinely inspiring.
It’s these moments where we connect with global leaders who are pioneering data and technology, that remind us why we do what we do, and that great ideas and fantastic people can be found right here in Manchester.
A culture of community and growth
Manchester Tech Festival is in its 4th year and is a principles-before-profit event, and the Naimuri team love getting involved and attending and helping out where we can.
This hands-on approach reflects our culture: being actively engaged with and giving back to the community that fuels our industry and collaborating and connecting with peers.
We left the festival energised, full of new ideas, and inspired by the incredible talent across the North West and beyond.
We can’t wait for next year!
